No, I’m not telling you to sleep all day long. I would never encourage that type of behaviour, you know it. Today, I am speaking to all the girlbosses around here, the ones who spend their lives running, who are multipassionate, who are inspiring for so many people and who tend to forget that they are human too. Yes, we can forget that we are human beings, it is possible. I’m here to remind you that you are. You are a human being and every human being needs to rest. I may not be the best advice giver because I myself tend to forget to rest, but I know this lifestyle is not something that can lasts for a lifetime. From the outside, this lifestyle seems wonderful, we are active women, we cross every single task on our (very) long to do lists, we do in twelve hours what other people do in a week. It’s true, and I love this life, as crazy as it seems. Nevertheless, I am aware that we humans need balance, our body needs to rest and working all the time is impossible for our well-being. Its is physically impossible. I could even say that it is mentally impossible because even if your mind can handle almost everything, it needs to rest in order not to be filled with negative vibes. What I’m writing is that, in order to be active and productive, one needs to know when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to work. If not, you will go crazy and going crazy is a significant loss of time. You loose less time if you accept to rest little by little when your body asks you some time off. You must listen to your body and to what it wants. Its is for a good reason that in all the YouTube videos on productivity you listen to, youtubers tell you that you should “take breaks”. Breaks are a condition to success and your body is the one who tells you when you should take them. Listening to yourself is essential in order to succeed, it is essential to do what your body wants when it wants it. The body is not lazy and if the mind is strong, then listening to the body cannot be a bad thing. It is even a really good thing. If you are feeling a little down, not as efficient as you usually are, not as motivated, it may be time to take a break. Your body will tell you how much time you need. You are allowed to feel less motivated, allowed to be human. Take care of your body, take care of your soul and they will reward you.
