Being in university is a privilege – a reminder that you used to dream your current reality.

Dear reader,

How many times in a lifetime will we have such an opportunity to spend a few years improving our knowledge everyday? How many times in a lifetime will it be our priority? Human beings are meant to improve, they are meant to get better and being in university is one of the best ways to improve your knowledge in the field you are in.

Remember why you have chosen to go to university

With finals getting closer and this whole “coronavirus situation” making it even more stressful, it is easy to lack motivation. When things get blurry, motivation tends to decrease, and that is perfectly normal. However, it may be the most important time of the year for you to be motivated. Thus, I would like that post to remind you why you have enrolled in university in the first place.

Lots of people think that they are here to “get a job” and I hope you keep that goal in a part of your mind as, obviously, studying is a means to an end (especially when you had to pay thousands of dollars to get in), but it is also an end in itself. How? Simply because you would never have taken that much debt if you were not interested in the wonderful opportunity it is in the first place.

The importance of enjoyment in success and motivation

Being in university is an opportunity to find out who you are and what you enjoy. The only way to get back on track with your study routine is for you to remember why you started that whole process in the first place. Above all, you need to enjoy what you do in order to do it well as there is no way you would ever sit in front of a computer eleven hours a day while hating all of it. Remember the way you felt when you got through the admission process. How good did it feel? Did you cry? Were you proud? I bet you were, and I am proud of you as well because you did wonderfully well and reached your dream. Of course, you got new dreams since then, but you are still living the dream you used to have, and that alone is a reason to enjoy studying right now.

Hoping that post helped you remember how much you used to dream your current reality,

Lots of love,

TABOULOT Camille
