8 Of My Favorite Lifestyle Blogs.

The importance of supporting other bloggers and the “blogging-mentality”.

According to my analytics, most of my viewers are bloggers themselves (I know that because I get a big part of my views through the WordPress Reader). As bloggers, I truly think we should all support each other: as each and every blog in the world is unique and different, there is no need for us to feel like we are in a competition. Most of the bloggers you are going to discover today may not be new to you as I regularly refer to them in my own posts. Nonetheless, some of them are totally new and I know they will be interesting to you. ♡

I have been blogging for 5 years now, but I have been really consistent with it for around 6 months. I noticed that the thing that really shifted my perspective on blogging and motivated me to blog more was actually to read more blogs. That may sound quite logical, but let me tell you that for more than 4 years, I actually rarely read blog posts! Why? Simply because I never really noticed how much of a great tool the WordPress Reader was!

For those of you who are not bloggers or do not blog via WordPress.com (which is different from the powerful CMS WordPress.org), the Reader is basically a functionality you can use to directly follow other bloggers and have all of their posts following each other in a list. It works a little bit like your Youtube “Suscription” section.

I already rambled quite a lot (once more, lol) so let’s get started with my favorite bloggers & what they do! I will only share with you the english-speaking bloggers I follow but know that I also have recommandations when it comes to German and French so if you are interested in these blogs, let me know and I will create a separate post for that. I divided these lifestyle bloggers (as it is the genre I read the most) into three sub-categories in order for you to have a better understanding of who they are and of what they write about. Ready? Let’s get started !

♡ Lifestyle & Blogging. ♡

Olivia Lucie Blake.

The list has no particular order but I start with this amazing blogger because it is her post about 20 Blogpost Ideas For A Lifestyle Blogger that made me want to create today’s post. She is a lifestyle blogger and covers topics such as comparison, self-confidence & blogging. Her posts are long enough to be explicative but short enough not to get boring. I discovered her blog only recently and I already love it!

New Lune.

I would say that discovering this particular blog was life-changing for me as a blogger. You will find a variety on topics on this website: lifestyle, interior design, skincare &c., but my favorite area of expertise is by far blogging. Her blogging tips are extremely useful and not repetitive at all. I learn something new each and every time she posts! Bonus point: her blog is hosted on WordPress.com , so all the non-self-hosted bloggers (the ones that have blogs hosted directly through a platform, such as Blogger, WordPress or Wix) can easily relate to her. Usually, I find that the best “blogging” blogs are self-hosted but she is not and thus, her tips can easily be applied to every single blogger out there.

♡ Lifestyle & Personal life/ Vulnerability. ♡

Tall Blonde Tales.

On that blog, you will discover a very honest young woman. I love how we may find tips, but also what I would call “personal posts”. She is not afraid to talk about her fears, her insecurities and her everyday life, which makes her really relatable. Each and every time I read her posts, my mood automatically improves!

Pooja.

Pooja’s blog tends to remind me of Tall Blond Tales’s blog format. Nonetheless, Pooja’s blog, Lifesfinewhine, has been up and running for several years now. Thus, if you visit her blog, you will have plenty of posts to choose from! The topics she covers are really diverse: mental health, blogging (her tips are really useful as well!), travel, university and so much more! She accepts guest posts and collaborations, which can be good to know!

Pooja is the very first blogger I collaborated with and I can tell you that she is one of the kindest persons I have be lucky enough to meet. If you are interested in our posts about university in Canada & France, click here for the post about differences I published on my blog and here for the post about similarities she published on her blog.

I Can’t Wink.

Carla, from the blog I Cant’ Wink, is the second blogger I collaborated with. I classified her blog with the two first ones because the topics she covers are quite similar. She is all about mental health, the negative impact social media can have on people, and everyday life issues. She is in a long-distance relationship and a lot of posts are dedicated to her tips and story, which I find really interesting. Long-distance relationships must be really hard and I bet that those of you who are in that beautiful, yet complicated situation, will be really happy to read about her experience dealing with it.

♡ Committed Posts, Literature & Minimalism. ♡

Storiandblog.

As you guys may (or may not) know, my dream is to become a librarian. I am doing my master’s now, so my dream is not that far away anymore! Anyway, today I want to talk to you about an inspiration when it comes to librarians: Stacy Torian. On her blog, she publishes reviews, parts of the path that led her to become a librarian, she discusses social issues, historical events & so much more! I sincerely think that those of you who are interested my “literature” section may love her blog.

Mindbeautysimplicity.

I could just not not talk about a blog about minimalism. Her posts are beyond thoughtful and bring both joy through the way they are written, and information through the words they are made of. I would especially recommend that blog to those of you who are just starting they minimalism journey and would love a little extra-motivation.

Litandbits.

Chloe is Irish and uses her blog as a way to discuss literature, university & so much more. She loves travelling, reading and she even spent a year in a French university. Being French myself, I loved the fact that she chose my country and we talked quite a lot about that. Once more, if you love literature, travels and, altogether, if you like my posts, visit her blog because I bet you will like it too!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope that you loved my recommandations and that some of them were new to you. I would like to create more blogging-related content in the future so let me know if you would be interested in that. I personally love reading about that topic and I can not be the only one (I hope not lol).

I wish you the best of days. ♡

    1. I don’t, I am not into social media actually, I quit it all a few years ago (already, wow!) and never looked back. Nonetheless, you can follow me on Pinterest if you want, I share bits of my life here in my “My Own Pictures” board (just look for Camille Taboulot), or on Goodreads as I share a lot about what I read and want to read in the near future.

    2. Carla form the blog I Can’t Wink & I have done a post about it actually, just type “social media” in the search bar if it is something you may be interested in. Maybe it will feel natural for you at some point to quit social media as well. If that happens, you will simply feel it in your heart. That is so sweet of yours. 🌸

  3. I too have spent years on WordPress only to discover the importance of the Reader in the past months, and boy has that changed my blogging game tremendously. It’s also how I discovered this post :p

Great list here. I do regularly read most of who’s on here, but there are a couple others I haven’t and am going to check out now. Thanks for sharing, Camille!

    1. It is the case for so many of us I think, we tend to see blogging as something “solitary” in the beginning but the true heart of blogging is in communication and the Reader is the perfect tool for it! When we understand it, we can start blogging “for real”.

I am very happy that it helped you discover this post, and I hope you will love the blogs I mentioned today and you did not know. If you loved mine, I am 100% you will love them all as well. I will have a look at your blog as soon as possible too.🌷

  4. Wowww this was such a clever idea and a truly beautiful post. I completely agree that bloggers should support one another and I realised the same thing about reading other blogs over lockdown and how much of a difference it makes. Thank you so so so much for including me in this I feel so honoured to be in your list. I love a few of the blogs you’ve mentioned because I know them and all the ones I don’t I’m about to check out. Thanks again and stay safe xxx ❤️❤️

  5. I follow four bloggers you’ve mentioned and they’re all as amazing as you described them and I love how you explained the WordPress reader, I think it’s one of the things that make WordPress stand out from other blogging platforms. When people ask me which platform to blog on, I want to tell them WordPress mostly because of the reader feature because, that way, they can interact with other bloggers. My readers are also mostly bloggers from WordPress too!!

    1. I do the exact same whenever I am asked what platform to choose. WordPress has the advantages of a social media platform, without the problematic side social media can have. We can build true bounds & build authentic relationships with other bloggers. We really support each other.

Have a nice day, and thank you so much for commenting 🌸
